Dough:
- 3 cups All-purpose flour or bread flour
- 1 packet Active dry or instant yeast
- 1 cup Warm water
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp Salt
Sauce:
- 28 oz Ripe Roma or San Marzano Tomatoes
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup Fresh Basil, chopped
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- To taste Salt and Pepper
Prepare the DoughMix yeast, warm water, and a bit of sugar in a small bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth and elastic.Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and proof for 1 hour, until doubled in size.Punch down the dough, divide it, and let proof for another 30 minutes before shaping. Make the SauceBlend or crush tomatoes with garlic, basil, oregano, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper.Simmer for 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Assemble the PizzaPreheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Roll dough into a circle on a floured surface.Spread the prepared sauce evenly on the dough. Add desired toppings and mozzarella cheese. Bake the PizzaTransfer to a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
